Specialist Advisors / Mentors - Part 2
In the start up phase of a social enterprise, finances and resources are always tight. Therefore along with pioneering volunteers, another important way to bring much needed skills into the organisation is through specialist advisors and mentors.
This group of people are not usually able to be volunteers, as they have short time constraints, but they can provide valuable insights, advice and specialist knowledge, which the organisation needs. In the early days of The Hope Factory there were a few key people who made themselves available in this way, and brought much needed skills and encouragement. Many of then are still advising the organisation today.
This group of people again bring along not only their skills, but also their network of contacts. Through building these key relationships, these important assets can continue to make valuable contributions to the organisation and team for many years.
